Friend of God

James 2:23 And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, "Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness." And he was called the friend of God. NKJV

Wow. To be called the friend of God! What an amazing statement! Why is that so powerful? Because most people see God as distant and unapproachable. It saddens me to think that many see God like this.

It's never been that way for me. I've always been able to run to God when I sin, when I fail or when I stumble. Why? I trust Him. I know it sounds simplistic, but it's true. I see Him as my friend. I am a friend of God.

Abraham was called the friend of God because he believed God. That's the qualifier... to simply believe and trust. Jesus told his disciples (followers), "I no longer call you servants... I call you friends."

Do you need "a friend who sticks closer than a brother?" There is one available to you... right now... at this very moment. Trust Him... he's there for you right now!
